Prologue

“Kill. Kill. Kill.” The only thoughts this creature can think of.  Not too long ago, this creature was a fellow pony...at least he hoped he was.  A pony that could think for himself, who would laugh with his friends, who took an oath to protect others, who was too shy to tell that special pony his feelings.  Now he has become a monster, the thing he always feared the most.  That fear has now become a reality this night.

“Knight…please stops this.  I know you’re still in there, fight it.”  A lavender alicorn pleads to the pony once name Knight.

“Foolish princess.”  A hybrid monstrosity walks up next to Knight.  “Your friend is gone.  He pledged his allegiance to me and belongs to me.”

“Only cause you held us as hostages you jerk!”  A cyan pegasus yells.

“Yeah, you big meanie!”  An earth pony with a bushy mane commented.

The monster called Knight slowly walks toward the Alicorn princess and her friends.  His mane of dark red and black blows through the wind and his dark red fur almost shines in the moonlight.  His dagger teeth dripping with saliva, his hooves turned claws scratching the ancient rock surface with each step.  His feathery bladed wings spread out as his tail slowly swings back and forth.

“Now, don’t blame me.”  The hybrid creature replies with a devilish grin.  “This is who he is.  What he was always meant to be.  He is once again and forever will be… Heartless Knight.”  He finishes him with a low evil voice.

Heartless Knight continues his approach, like a predator ready to pounce on its prey making a low growling sound.

“Um...girls?  What’s the plan?”  A bright yellow stallion wearing a jester hat asks nervously.

“I…I don’t know.”  The Alicorn princess looks toward her six friends then back toward the approaching beast.

“I reckon we take Knight’s warning and hightail it back to Ponyville.”  An orange mare with a southern accent suggests out loud.  Upon hearing the suggestion the group silently agrees that was the best course of action at this time.

“Alright then girls…and Jester, get going I’ll hold him off.”  The princess commands.

“But Twi…”

“No buts!” The lavender Alicorn interrupts, “I can hold him off for a few minutes and we need to get these kids to safety.”  Looking back behind the group of six, three young fillies and a colt were hiding behind the older ponies.  “Don’t worry, I’ll be right behind all of you.”

The others wanted to protest about their friend’s decision, but the responsibility and safety of the children were their top priority.  They all nodded in agreement and carried the little ones back to Ponyville.  Now that her friends were out of danger she could focus on the creature they once called their friend. “Please Knight…I know you don’t want to do this.  Don’t make me hurt you.”

Heartless Knight’s horn begins to glow bright with magic then the magic energy extends into a crimson red, flat, long sword blade.  He swings his head once and with a loud monstrous roar he leaps toward the princess, swinging the blade right at her.

Chapter 1 – The Traveling Warrior and the Fool

It’s a beautiful night, the stars shining like diamonds and the moonlight shines over a grassy plain.  Soon the night would have to disappear until the next night, as the sun was rising again to start a new day.  However, something strange was happing this morning.  From out of nowhere a colorful magical portal opened up less than a mile away from a peaceful town.

From the portal a dark blue stallion with a mane mixed of black and dark blue walks out of the portal.  This stallion was anything but ordinary, upon his head sat a horn and on his sides were feathery wings.  He was in fact an Alicorn.  As the Alicorn scans the area another stallion wearing a jester hat came through the portal before closing.

“Knight! There’s something wrong with me!”  The yellow stallion suddenly screams out loud.   The Alicorn name Knight immediately whips around ready for action.  “I can’t feel my toes!”

He hoof palm his face and shakes his head with disappointment. “Jester…you are not a human in this world, you are a pony now, a unicorn to be precise.”  Noticing the horn poking out from the hat.  “So the reason you don’t feel them is simply because ponies don’t have toes, they have hooves.”

“Oh.” Jester realizes the change.  “Then how come my hooves feel cold and wet?”

“You are standing in a puddle.”

The human turned pony looks down, making a sheepish smile as he blushes with embarrassment.  Knight shakes his head again.

“Out of all the humans that had to come with me, it had to be him.”  Knight’s thoughts dread on his partner.  “Why did he have to volunteer for this mission?”

The silly pony checks out his new look through the puddle’s reflection.  His furry body was a simple yellow color, while his mane and tail are curly bright brown.  His jester hat has two tails; one tail is yellow and the other being green.  On the ends of each tail is an orange string or thin cloth.  While enjoying his new pony looks he notices a picture of a green and orange jester hat on his flank.

“Hey Knightly! Check it, I got a cutie mark like you.”

Knight looks to see what he’s talking about.  “Your cutie mark does reflects your personality nicely. “

Jester smiles with glee. “Yep…and I just love it.  Anyhow any idea of what we might be up against?”

Knight informs his friend about the mission again.  “Hard to tell, HQ only found a small spike of dark energy so we have no idea who, what, or how many members are here.  Since this is another pony world similar to the G1 world, it was logically for me to be picked for this mission because I’m already a pony.  I guess that’s the same reason why you were transformed into a pony as well, so we won’t arise any suspicions.  Once we find the targets we eliminate or chase them out of this world before they bring harm to the citizens of this world.”

Finished with the briefing he looks for any follow up questions.  His speech fell upon deaf ears.  Jester completely ignoring what has been said and swings his tail back and forth, watching it with delight.

“JESTER!”  Knight yelling at a high volume, startling the silly pony by complete surprise that he falls on his rump.  “Have you been paying attention to anything I just said?”

He just smiles. “Ya, all we got to do is identify who we are up against, report back to base, and stop them or call for backup.  I really hope it’s not that psycho with the chains.  So… any idea where to look for them?”

Blinking with disbelief Jester has brought up a very important fact, where to begin searching.  HQ was only able to determine that the Dark Organization used a dark portal to arrive in this world but could not pinpoint their exact location.  The closets they could narrow it down was somewhere on the outskirt of a nearby town.  Without any idea of who or what they will be up against, or how many, this could become a disaster for them.

Jester gets back on all four. “Well, luckily I came prepare.”

“You, prepared?”  Knight finds it hard to believe Jester to be type of per-pony that would be prepared for this event, let alone anything.

Jester widens his smile. “Oh course silly-willy.  We just need to find a town called Ponyville, talk to the Mayor and everything will be A-OK.  I think it’s this way.”

The sunny pony heads toward town, still adjusting to his four limbs.  The Alicorn shakes his head in disbelief again and could only follow in response.

As the pair enter the residential area of the town Jester has adjusted quickly to his four legs, like he had them all his life.  The two were admiring town and tried to compare this world to the last pony world they visited some time ago.

“Wow, there sure are a lot more ponies than the Paradise Estate we use to hang out.  In fact, I think there’s way more ponies here than there ever was in the entire G1 world.”  Jester said.

“No kidding. The estate was just one house for many ponies; this place is a whole community of ponies.  And this is just one town, who knows how many other communities exist in this world.”  Knight recalls the time and adventures he spent in the other pony world.  Looking around, he was amazed to see so many kind of ponies going about their business.  What got his attention the most were the unicorns using their magic for other things. “It appears the unicorns here have more magic abilities than the ones we encountered before.”

“You can say that again.  I don’t recall Buttons or Gusty lifting stuff up with their magic.  You think I can learn how to do that now that I’m an unicorn?”

“Maybe… for now lets find out if we’re in the right town and talk to the Mayor.”

They notice that it was still early and the streets weren’t that crowded only several ponies setting up their work stands, preparing for the day.  However, all activates stopped when the ponies gazed upon the strangers.

“I think your hat is drawing too much attention?”  Knight whispers to Jester. Walking as if nothing was wrong.

“They are probably jealous of my hat.  I have you know this here is a rare hat and a very expensive hat that my brother got for me.“

“How much did it cost?”

“I don’t know he stole it.”  Jester cheerfully replied.  Knight chuckled a little at the joke, knowing Jester was only kidding. “But honestly… I think they are all looking at you.”

“Me?!”  He quietly questioned in disbelief.  Looking at the other ponies and to himself as he attempts to identify what is the cause of the staring.

“I think we will find the Mayor of this town here?”  Jester says, regaining Knight’s attention.  In front of the pair of stallions stood a circular building with a wooden platform for public speaking, a balcony, and the roof shaped like a cone.

“What makes you say that?”

“Just a feeling.”  Jester waves his hoof to politely point toward the door.  “After you.”

Rolling his eyes, Knight trust his friend's judgement and trots inside.  Inside, the pair finds a group of ponies talking amongst themselves.

Knight walks up to politely ask the group. “Excess me, we are looking for the mayor of Ponyville.  Is this town Ponyville?”

“Yes, this is Ponyville. And I’m the mayor of this wonderful town of ours.”  A female Earth pony with grey mane, glasses, and a diploma for a cutie mark answers.  “My name is Mayor Mare and what can I…I” She stops talking, upon looking at the stranger.  The other ponies look as well; their eyes grow to dinner plates upon seeing the dark pony.

“Your Majesty.”  The Mayor says, as she and the others bow down.

Knight blinks in confusion to the remark. “Your Majesty?”

Mayor Mare and the others return standing up.  “Yes. Are you not a princess, I mean a prince since you are a stallion.  Although, nobody has met a male Alicorn before.”

“Prince?!”  Knight shouts.

“Him a prince?” Jester points toward Knight then start bursting with laughter.  He was laughing so hard, he fell over.

“I’m not a prince, I’m just a pony…who happens to be an Alicorn.” Quickly turning his attention to the foolish pony for any help to get out of this awaked situation.  “Jester, get up!”

Wiping away the tears of joy, the silly pony jumps back up and addresses the Mayor.  Clearing his throat and speaks in a professional manor. “Ms. Mare, I recently acquired the ownership of a piece of land in this fair town of yours and wish to collect the deed.”

Mayor Mare smiles.  “Oh...wait here for a moment please.”  She leaves the group, heading toward the back of the building and disappears from sight.

“Since when did you buy any land, and why?”  The Alicorn asks his friend.

“Well…I spotted this world while on monitor duty and found it interesting and fun.  So I did some random jobs, and asked Wiz about a raise and bought the land in advance.  I’m not sure why I brought it either.  I felt like it this place was calling me or something. Ya know?”  Jester answers sincerely.

Knight decides to drop the question, trying to understand Jester’s reason and logic is next to impossible.  Shortly the mayor returns with a piece of paper and says,  “Please sign here Mr.?”

The yellow stallion takes his hat off and bows.  “Jester’s the name.  At your service.”

He nudges his Alicorn friend.  “Ok, let’s try this again.  Hello, my name is Knight.  It’s a pleasure to meet you Ms. Mare.”

“It’s nice to meet you as well.  It's not every day were get new residents in our little community, especially one being a prince.”  She teases.

“I’m not a prince!”  Knight grumbles back, as he signs the paper.  Jester signs after Knight and hands it back to Mayor Mare.

“Everything is in order.”  She says, “Your residential location is here. Oh, more thing.  Welcome to Ponyville.”

The two off-worlders wave goodbye and head out of the building.

“Is that pony really a prince?” One of the ponies asks the Mayor.

“Of course he is, it’s obvious he’s trying to keep it a secret.”  She answers.

“Doesn’t seem to be doing a good job hiding it.”

“This is what you bought?”  Knight yells in frustration.  “When you said you bought some land, I was expecting a house or something but you bought a big pile of nothing but empty space!” In front of him is an empty space of land on the out skirt of town.

“Well it does need something.”  Jester says, unaffected by his friend’s wrath.

“And do you expect us to sleep on the ground and out in the open.  I don’t mind sleeping outside but you could have brought some land with soft grass or something.”

Jester puts his hoof to Knight’s mouth to silent him.  He checks the landscape out, measuring it, checking the dirt, and then visualize it.  After a minute he says, “Perfect. I found the center point.”  Places his hat on the ground and starts dancing around the hat, while singing the Mexican Hat Dance.  Feeling a little bewildered about what his friend action, Knight knows Jester is doing it for a good reason…he hopes.  The silly pony does several cartwheels away from the hat and back to the dark blue stallion’s side.  Suddenly, the hat start shaking on it’s own like a firecracker ready to go off.  From the hat large roots comes rushing out and sink into the soil ground.  As the roots take root, the hat is pushed upward, continuing to pour out sections and branches of a large oak tree.  After spitting out the top of the tree, the hat is shot skyward and lands right back on Jester’s head.

From out of nowhere the hat has summoned a large three story tall oak tree house with green leaves on the top and along the branches.  A large blue door was at the base of the tree; windows randomly placed all over the tree.  There were two large thick branches up by the second floor that provided walking support, and a balcony on the third floor.

“So you bought the empty space so that there would be enough room to summon your tree house.  I’m an idiot.”  He remembered Jester’s hat has its own magic properties.  One of its abilities is to store and summon random stuff or whatever Jester is thinking about.

“Yep.”  He answers back.

“And dancing was the only way to bring it out?”

“Nah, I could have summoned it anytime.  The dancing was just for fun.”  The Alicorn gives off a blank expression while the unicorn smiles.

“Okay…what about this sign?”  He asks.  Noticing a white wooden sign hanging off a lower branch next to the door.  The sign had an Earth Pony, a Pegasus, and a Unicorn on it; all three were in a triangle shape.

“That’s our business sign for the Equestria Helpers Shop.”  The yellow stallion says proudly.

“Our business shop?”

“Well we need to do something to make a living and we got to eat.  Plus who knows how long till we find those baddies.  So this will be our home.”  Jester opens the door.

Knight screams as tons of random stuff comes pouring out the doorway and lands on top of the Alicorn, completely burying him.  He manages to get his head out of the pile, glaring at the fool.  Jester sheepishly smiles in response.

“Whoops! Forgot to mention this but I use this tree as a storage place for my stuff.  And it’s can be a mess from time to time.”

“Is that everything?”

“Everything but the kitchen sink.”  On cue, the sink comes rolling out and crashes on top of Knight, as he lets out a loud ouch.  “There it is!”

The pile starts to rattle and then suddenly, Knight burst out like a rocket into the sky, opening his wings and slowly lands next to Jester.

“Alrighty then, I don’t suppose you can use that levitating spell to help get this mess cleaned up.”  Jester suggests his friend.

“Jest.  You know I can’t do a levitating spell, have you seen me use a levitating spell before?  The only magic I can do is teleportation and my horn saber.  Teleporting and one other magic abilities was all the unicorns could do in the other pony world.” Knight calmly stated with hints of frustration in his voice.

Jester thinks for a moment.  “True, but since we’re no longer in that pony world, then maybe you can learn these new spells too.  Hopefully I can at least.  I mean if every unicorns can levitate stuff, then I’m pretty sure we can do it too.  After all we have the horns to do it.  Maybe there’s a book or something."

Thinking the theory over Knight believes Jester brings up a good point.  Things are very different in this world, so its possible he could learn magic as well.  In order to test his theory he needed to gather information about magic and if the locals seen any possible Organization members .  Knight then says, “Alright, here’s the plan.  I’ll go explore and learn what I can what the locals know and how things work around here.  While I’m out on recon, you start cleaning this mess up.”

“As you command, Prince Knight.”  Jester bows.

Knight irritated replied, “Don’t say call me that, I’m not a prince.” Heading into town to gather what information he could find about this world.

During his investigation Knight makes a map of the town, marking down the popular and helpful places, such as Sugarcane Corner, the train station, Town Square, food stands, etc.  The only problem was that the ponies he encountered so far didn’t have any information about anything relative to the Organization activities.  The most annoying part of this was that every pony kept addresses him as a prince.  He was getting sick of that false title.  Regardless, he continued his quest until he notices the sun was beginning to set for the day.  Using what daylight to review his made-up-map, his thoughts turn to the ideas of where the enemy could be.

“There are not a lot of places to hide without getting spotted, so there’s no way for the Organization to do any activity without some pony noticing.  So logically they would not hide in town but somewhere close to town.  But where?”

“HELLO!”

Completely startled by the sudden loud outburst, he loses his hold on the piece of paper.  A gust of wind picks up the map and carries it far away.  Dumbstruck at his luck he slowly turns around with an irritated expression, facing a trio of fillies with sheepish smiles.

“Sorry about that Mr.” A yellow earth filly with a red bow apologizes with a southern accent.

“We didn’t mean to startle you and make you lose your paper.”  A white unicorn filly apologizes as well.

“Yeah, Sorry.”  An orange Pegasus filly says.

“It’s alright.”  Knight calming down, then mutters softly, “Even though I have to start over with the mapping.”

It was then that the three fillies noticed the pony they startled has wings and a horn.

“Are you royalty?”  The filly with the bow asks.  "Because you look like one."

“Oh course he is, he’s an Alicorn and all Alicorns are princess.”  The orange one informs her.

“He’s a guy, so the proper title is prince not princess.”  The white unicorn corrects her friend.

“What are you a know-it-all?”  She rudely replies.

“It’s not my fault I pay attention to certain things in school and you don’t Scoot.”

“I’M NOT A PRIN…” Knight stops himself from yelling at the little girls, calming down again.  Hearing it all day has given him a slight headache.  “I’m not a prince nor am I of royal blood.  I’m simply an Alicorn name Knight…who just moved here and was trying to map the town and learn more about it.”

“If you needed a map then why not get one from the Golden Oak Library?  The white filly asked.

It never accord to Knight about looking for a library.  He heard about them from his human friends but he never been to one before.  Asking the three fillies, “Do you girls know where the library is?”

“No problem!”  The three fillies say together, grabbing the dark blue Alicorn by his front hooves.  Eager to help the newcomer they started pulling him toward their destination.

“You don’t have to take me, just point me in the right direction.”  He protests.

“It’s much easier to take you there.  Oh, we forgot to introduce ourselves.  My name is Apple Bloom.” The earth filly says.

“I’m the cool one, name’s Scootaloo.” Talking with attitude.

“Hello Knight, I am Sweetie Belle.”  The white unicorn says politely.

“AND TOGETHER WE ARE THE CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS!”  They joyfully shout out loud.

“The cutie what?”  He asks.

As they walked the trio explained how they formed the Cutie Marks Crusaders, a club to help them find their special talent by trying a large variety of different activities together.  They mentioned all the stuff they already did, such as carpenter, animals’ caretakers, and many other failed attempts.  Knight actually admired their determination to never give up on finding their talent, as well as their strong bond to each other.  Shorty the crusaders have brought him in front of a large oak tree with a red door and a sign with a book next to it.  Uncertain if the library was still open at this time Knight wanted to ask, but was pushed through the front door before he could say anything.  Inside he finds the tree to be hollowed out and decorated with bookshelves along the house wall.  A tree stump turned table rests in the center of the circular room, with a wooden pony head on top.  There’s a staircase in the back leading up to the living quarters for the librarian.  That is what Knight assumes at this time.

“WELCOME TO THE GOLDEN OAK LIBRARY!”  The girls yell out loud together, hurting the stallion’s ears.

“Keep it down, you’re in a library.”  Some pony says, or rather a dragon.  Coming down the stairs is a purple dragon about the same size as the fillies, carrying a rather large stack of books that blocks his view and looked too heavy for the little guy.

“Hay Spike.”  Apple Bloom says. “We’re just showing the new pony in town where the library is.”

“That’s nice but the library is closed for today.”  He answers.

“Spike.” A female voice calls the dragon from the second floor. “Do you have the Star Swirl Volumes?”

“Yes…all twenty-five volumes.” He says with a grumble.

“I see.  Since you are busy, I’ll come back tomorrow.  Sorry for barging in.  Girls, thank you for your help.”  The Alicorn says politely as he heads for the door, when suddenly the door slams wide open.  A pink flash speed right by, spinning him like a top.

“TWILIGHT!”  The pink flash calls out.  The sudden outburst surprises Spike, causing him to jump in shock and drop the books right on top of the dizzy stallion.

“Pinkie?” A lavender female unicorn comes trotting down the stairs to see what happened.  She sees her friends, Pinkie Pie, Spike, the Crusaders, and some unknown pony she didn't know under a pile of books.  Upon seeing the buried stallion she uses her magic to levitate the books off him.

“I’m sorry about this sir.” She turns toward the young dragon. “Spike you shouldn’t carry too many books.  This is what happens when you overdo it.”

“I’m sorry Twilight, Pinkie startled me.”

Pinkie starts rambling.  “Twilight? Did you hear huh? Did ya? Did ya? We got new ponies in town?  There are two of them. I hear one of them is strange looking and the other even stranger.  Oh Look! There’s one of them right now.”

Pinkie Pie points and Twilight follows the direction toward the standing stallion she was helping.  Looking at him more clearly, her eyes shrink, realizing that this pony is actually an Alicorn.  A bit surprised that he was about the same height as her, but that detail was not important at this time.

“Your Majesty.”  She quickly bows.  Upon bowing she loses her connection with the levitating spell, causing the books to crash back down on top of the Alicorn.  He only replies with an ouch and some muttering, earning some giggles from the girls.

“Oh my gosh I’m really sorry.”  She apologizes with a sheepish smile. Using her magic to remove the books from the unexpected guest and places them on the selves.  “Are you alright?”

Picking himself back up with one hoof on his head.  “It’s alright.  It didn’t hurt that much, I’ve been hit by much worse things.”

“Like what?”  Pinkie asks.

“Pinkie Pie, be more respectful. I’m sorry about Pinkie prince…prince.”

“Knight, my name is Knight.  I’m not a prince or of any royal bloodline.  May I have your name please?”  He asks the unicorn librarian.

“My name is Twilight Sparkle.  This is my friend Pinkie Pie and my number one assistant Spike.”  Pointing to the pink mare and baby dragon.  “Then...Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo.  What are you doing here?”

“We were just showing Mr. Knight here where to find the library.”  Apple Bloom answered sincerely.

Twilight says, “That is nice of you to help a fellow pony.” Looking at the stallion for a moment then back to the girls. “But you three shouldn’t be out this late, it’s past your bedtimes.”

“Hey we don’t have bedtimes.”  Scootaloo protests.  “Besides it’s only…” Looking through a nearby window, realizing the sun went down sometime ago and the moon was up.

“Huh, I guess it is getting late.”  Sweetie says.

Knight politely says, “I apologize, I was not aware that these fillies had to be home at a certain time.  I did not mean to get them into any trouble.”

“It’s alright, you could not have known.  Pinkie, why don’t you take them home? Since you know where they live.”

“Okey Dokey Lokey. Come on girls, Auntie Pinkie will take you home.” She delightfully says.  The three fillies say their goodbyes.  Shortly after they left, Twilight’s attention turns toward the dark blue stallion.

“Now was there something you wanted to check out at the library Mr. Knight?”

Recalling what he wanted he asks, “I was hoping to borrow a few books about magic and other things.  However since it’s closed I guess I can return tomorrow.”

“Wait a moment…please.”  The unicorn politely says.  “As my way of welcoming you to Ponyville and apologizing for dropping the books on you, why don’t you pick out the books you want and take them with you before you leave.  What kind of magic book were you looking for?  We have a few advance magic learning and the Star Swirl Volumes have many interesting spells.”

“I was hoping to find a magic book for beginners and some books about maps, legends, history, and myths.”

“A magic beginner book?”  Twilight questions. “Why do you need a beginner book? Wouldn’t this be too easy for you? And why do you want all these books?”

Knight honestly and nervously answers her questions. “I have not relied on magic during my lifetime with the exception of knowing one or two spells.  From where I use to live there weren't many magic to learn and since arriving I noticed the other unicorns using different magic so I thought perhaps I can learn a few more helpful spells.  As for the others I am not from this, err county, so I wish to learn more about it.”

Hearing his response Twilight is a bit puzzled that an Alicorn did not rely on magic and claims to not be a prince.  It’s obvious to Twilight that this stallion is not from Equestrian, becoming curious as to what Knight knew at all.  However, since it was getting late she decides to drop the subject and not bother Knight with questions.  She was still suspicious about him but could find the answers another day.

“I can tell you are a fellow seeker of knowledge.  Please wait a moment.” Using her magic, she levitates several books and makes a small pile.  The books contained common information about Equestria history, cartography novels, and a few tales of legends and myth.  Then from upstairs, a single book comes floating down and grabbed it with her hooves.  The book was titled, The Step Toward Magic: A Learning Guide for Beginners, it was one of her favorites books to read while growing up.

“When I was a filly I found this book to be very helpful with learning magic.  I’m sure this will help you out.”  Placing the last book on the pile.  “Stop by if you need any help with anything.”

Knight uses his wings to pick up the books and places them on his back. “I’ll keep that in mind, thank you for your time and help Miss Sparkle."

"Please, call me Twilight."

"Very well Twilight. Have a goodnight!”

“Goodnight to you too.”  With the goodnights said, Knight exits the library and trots back to the Equestria Helpers Shop.

Upon arriving at the front door of his shop, he pauses for a moment. Remembering what happened the last time the door was opened he slowly opens the door, expecting stuff to pour out.  When nothing happened he walks inside.  Upon entering he was expecting to find a mess but was surprised to see the tree to appear like an actually clean house.

The first floor was similar to the Golden Oak Library in design but only had a single bookshelf against the wall with no books; the staircase was on the opposite side.  For some odd reasons there were several hole spaces near the ceiling, big enough to fit a pony or two. There is a round coffee table in the center of the room with two couches and two wooden chairs around the table.  Underneath the furniture was a large red and blue striped rug and on the ceiling is a painted sun and crescent moon shape mixed together with the sun in the back and the moon out front.

“Am I in the right house?”  He questions out loud.

“I would hope so, because if you’re not then what are you doing in the wrong house?”  A voice asks from behind Knight.  Startling him enough to cause him to drop the books, he whips around to find Jester with that big grin of his.

“I see your day has been good.”  He says, picking up a few of the books and checking them out with excitement.

“Yes it’s been a productive first day.  I met some of the local ponies and find them to be…interesting.  There was a strange pink earth pony, a very helpful unicorn, three curious fillies, and who knows what other ponies we would encounter tomorrow.  Anyhow, I’m going to my room to do some research.”  Picking up a few books.  “Where is my room anyway?”

Jester replies, “Your room is in the west wing.  The third floor is my room so dibs.”

“Fine.”  Looking around the room he asks, “What happened to all that junk that filled up the tree?”

“Junk…that’s priceless stuff you are talking about. Well if you must know, I put it all in my hat…minus the furniture I found.”

“At least it’s not in the way.  Take the rest of the books and learn what you can.  And I’ll see you in the morning, Night.”  Knight says as he trots up the stars to find his room.

“Aye Aye Captain.”  Jest cheerful answers.  “Goodnight!”

Making his way upstairs he finds the second floor to be the kitchen room with a sink by the window, a refrigerator next to the sink, and a wooden table with four wooden chairs set around the table.  Looking past the kitchen, he spots three different staircases, one leads downstairs, the other two head upstairs, one goes left, and the other goes right.  He takes the left staircase.  It leads him straight to a dark blue color door that has a white shield painted on it.  Realizing this must be his room; he opens it and is able to make out the room thanks to the moonlight.  His room is in a round shape with an already made bed covered with black bed sheets.  A large round window was a few feet away from the bed.   The window was big enough for a Pegasus to fly through.  On the opposite end of the room is a writing desk with a wooden chair pushed against the desk.

He thinks about making or adding some changes to his room and plans to explore the rest of the house tomorrow.  Places the books on the writing desk, he looks for a candle to help him read but couldn’t find one.  Then in a flash of light blue he disappears.

Jester was still in the living room reading the books Knight got from the library.  When suddenly a bright blue light flashed in the living room.

“Jester.”  The light said.  Starling the silly pony, causing him to jump up in the air and scream then fall down.  Looking at the light he finds it was only Knight using his teleportation magic.

“Is it me or is your teleportation different?”

“I guess teleporting looks different in this world.  Anyhow, do you have a candle?” The dark blue stallion asks his friend.  The yellow stallion takes his hat off and puts his hoof in it, going through it like a bag of candy.  He finally grabs something and pulls it out holding a candle and a match.  Knight takes it and teleports away.  Jester picks up a book and continue reading like nothing happened.

Back in his room he lights up the candle to provide reading light.  Reviewing the books, he starts to think of what would be helpful with adjusting to this world.  “History will help me understand the culture of these ponies.  Then again, reading the maps first will give me a better lay down on the land.  But learning the legends and myths might give me an idea of what the Organization could be after.  After all Legends are lessons written with truth.”

He then picks up the magic book.  The book title was written in golden color and on the cover was the head shape of a unicorn.

“History and the land won’t change overnight, I’ll save them for latter. What ever I’m up against, I’m going to need to learn some new tricks.  Who knows…there might be a few spells that would prove to be very helpful in saving lives.”

Choosing the magic book Twilight gave him, he takes it to bed and begins to practice some new magic.
